Safety Motivation and Recognition Program

The Members’ Supervisory Board and The Landin Companies believe that safety is a key element to the success of the Virginia Commerce. A commitment to safety starts at the top of the organization, and this commitment must exist in order to control workplace injuries and the resulting costs for your workers’ compensation program. A strong safety program also fosters employee morale and productivity.

It is important to recognize those members who have demonstrated their dedication to safe work practices. The VCGSIA Safety Motivation and Recognition Program is designed to promote the prevention of workplace injuries and illnesses through acknowledgement and recognition of safety achievements attained by the implementation of effective safety policies and procedures.

Safety Award: A certificate is awarded to companies that have successfully completed a period of at least one plan year without incurring an occupational injury or illness that resulted in a compensable workers’ compensation claim. This award will be repeated for additional consecutive plan years (from one to four plan years) by indicating the number of years on the certificate.

Safety Leadership Award: A plaque is awarded to companies upon successfully reaching five consecutive plan years without incurring an occupational injury or illness that resulted in a compensable workers’ compensation claim. Thereafter, plaques are awarded at five year intervals.
